An artist has invented a synthetic ‘leaf’ that could let us live in space

It looks like a leaf. It works like a leaf. It sure as hell ain’t a leaf.

Julian Melchiorri, an art school graduate from London, is said to have invented a silk leaf that can create oxygen for both Earth’s atmosphere as well as space travel.

Sounds amazing? His dreams for it will blow you away.

“NASA is researching different ways to produce oxygen for long-distance space journeys to let us live in space,” he said. “This material could allow us to explore space much further than we can now.”
