Delivering a baby into the world is not something we usually think of as a tragic occasion.
But every year, over 250,000 women and 1 million babies die during childbirth in Africa.
They die at home and in unequipped facilities from infections, post-partum bleeding, and poor emergency care by under-qualified providers.
Jacaranda Health is helping to change this. Building a network of private maternity clinics in resource-poor settings, the charity hopes to make patient-centered care both affordable and high-quality.
