For whatever reason, the art of guitar building isn’t something you’d associate with Africa.
Unless you’re aware of DuncanAfrica.
DuncanAfrica is the brainchild of Canadian luthier Jay Duncan. Setup in Uganda way back in 2007, Jay’s vision stretches far beyond simply making guitars, with the overall aim being to improve the community and lives of those whom work at his Suubi Trade School.
All proceeds and profits from sold guitars are put back into the community; providing support in the form of wages, education, healthcare, and general supplies.
Could a guitar change the world? Maybe more so than you think.
